That's fascinating! Could you give an approximate idea of its size? I see it's not circular, but a rough "about 20mm at widest (or whatever) would be good" (Love your blog, even if I keep quiet about it!)

Of course! Looks like roughly 9x10mm (and pretty thin too)

I wonder if Gabal is the ancestor of the modern day Jabal (mountain). Byblos town lies at the base of Mount Lebanon and would have been the main port for the mountain.

I love fractional silver! They are affordable and often have great designs like this one. Mine aren’t as cool as yours but I have a Miletus 1/12 stater and a Kyzikos hemiobol, both with lion designs.
